Your profile in Dixl
Your Dixl profile is the name, photo, and optional “about” line other people see when you message them. It’s encrypted and shared only with people you choose.
What’s in your profile
- Name — first and optional last name. Both are end-to-end encrypted.
- Photo — a picture or initials-based avatar. Encrypted.
- About — an optional short status with an emoji.
- Username — optional; see Usernames.
Edit your profile
- Open Settings.
- Tap your profile row at the top.
- Update your name, photo, or About, then tap Save.
Who can see your profile
By default your profile is visible to people in your contacts, people you’ve messaged before, and people you’ve been in a group with. Someone who messages you for the first time sees “Unknown” until you accept their message request — accepting shares your profile with them.
Privacy notes
Your profile name and photo are never stored on Dixl servers in plaintext — even we can’t see them. Your phone-number visibility is a separate setting: Settings › Privacy › Phone number.
