Notifications or calls aren’t coming through

If Dixl messages only appear when you open the app, or incoming calls don’t ring, your phone is closing Dixl in the background to save battery. Almost every case is fixed by the steps below — start with your phone’s brand.

Quick checklist

If all of that is set and it still doesn’t work, the cause is your phone’s battery manager — find your brand below.

Android: this is where most problems live

Android — and Chinese brands especially — aggressively close apps in the background. While Dixl is closed it can’t receive messages or calls until you open it again. The fix is to tell your phone to leave Dixl running.

Battery optimization (every Android phone)

  1. Open Dixl → Settings › Notifications › Troubleshooting.
  2. Tap Disable battery optimization and confirm.

Or from the system: Settings › Apps › Dixl › Battery › Unrestricted (the wording varies by brand).

Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO (MIUI / HyperOS)

These phones are the most common reason calls don’t ring. Turn on all of the following for Dixl:

  1. Autostart — Settings › Apps › Manage apps › Dixl › Autostart: On. Without it, the phone won’t let Dixl start to take a call.
  2. No battery restrictions — same screen › Battery saver › No restrictions.
  3. Lock-screen and pop-ups — Dixl › Other permissions › turn on Display pop-up windows while running in background and Show on Lock screen. This is what lets an incoming call appear on a locked phone.
  4. Lock Dixl in Recents — open Recent apps, swipe down on the Dixl card (or long-press it) and tap the lock icon, so “clear all” doesn’t close it.

Huawei, Honor

  1. Settings › Battery › App launch › Dixl — switch from Automatic to Manage manually, then turn on Auto-launch, Secondary launch, and Run in background.
  2. Settings › Apps › Dixl › Battery — allow background activity.
  3. Lock Dixl in Recent apps (swipe down on the card → lock).

Samsung (One UI)

  1. Settings › Apps › Dixl › Battery › Unrestricted.
  2. Settings › Battery › Background usage limits — make sure Dixl is not under “Sleeping apps” or “Deep sleeping apps”.

Oppo, Realme, Vivo, OnePlus

  1. In Battery settings, allow background activity / auto-launch for Dixl and set power use to Don’t optimize / No restrictions.
  2. Open the Startup manager / Auto-launch list and enable Dixl.
  3. Lock Dixl in Recent apps.

Incoming calls don’t ring in sleep mode

A call needs more than a message: the phone has to wake Dixl, show the call screen over the lock screen, and keep it running while it rings. If messages arrive but calls stay silent when the screen is off, it’s almost always one of these:

When you’re done, lock the phone and ask someone to call you to confirm.

iPhone

  1. Settings › Notifications › Dixl › Allow Notifications: On.
  2. Make sure a Focus or Sleep mode isn’t silencing Dixl — add Dixl to its allowed apps.
  3. If nothing arrives, restart the iPhone.

Test it

  1. In Dixl, open Settings › Notifications › Test notification.
  2. Close Dixl completely (swipe it away from Recents).
  3. You should get a test notification within 30 seconds.

If the test works but real messages or calls are still late, the cause is the battery settings above.

Still stuck?

In Dixl, open Settings › Help › Contact us and attach a debug log. We can see whether the push reached your phone and where it stopped.
